Hrithik Roshan is synonymous with dance moves…..
The synonym of dance is Hrithik Roshan swear by his bone-bending dance steps but the actor himself is quite dismissive about his talent as a dancer. The actor feels honoured when seen as a symbol for dance in the country.Hrithik Roshan is set to make his small screen debut with a dance reality show, ‘Just Dance’, on Star Plus. The show goes on air on June 18 and Hrithik will judge it along with choreographers Farah Khan and Vaibhavi Merchant.
While promoting the show at a press conference, Hrithik spoke about his own skill as a dancer.
“I find every dance difficult. Whenever I start rehearsals, I start from zero and I feel that I can’t do this. Then I slowly learn. I’m no god of dance, but I’m very happy with the fact that I have become a symbol for dance and that through me, so many other talented gods of dance will get an opportunity,” Hrithik told the media persons.
Hrithik also surprised everybody by saying that he’s not even the best dancer in the city or neighbourhood, but yeah! he really puts in a lot of efforts and is a true hard worker.
“I’m blessed that I have become a symbol for something that stands for such a great talent. But I’m not the best dancer in the country, city or my neighbourhood. I’m just a very hardworking dancer,” he added.

Ranveer Singh refuses to do sex scenes on screen…
Ranveer Singh was the original choice of the wild and extreme KC is Bijoy Nambiar’s Shaitan…However, the Band Baaja Baraat actor opted out due to the boldness of the character and only then did Gulshan Devaiah stepped in.
A source from the crew reveals, “Ranveer was like any other struggling actor at that time. He hadn’t signed BBB then.
He was one of the first guys auditioned and selected for the role. Bejoy immediately decided to cast him. He loved the energy and spontaneity RS brought in front of the camera.”
The source adds, “Ranveer loved the part and agreed to do it. However, he chickened out later on as his character was supposed to be introduced in the movie in a sexually explicit scene. The actor told Nambiar he wouldn’t be comfortable debuting with such a bold scene. His family also had their reservations against the role.”
The scene was later changed and the film’s salaciousness was toned down a bit.
The source further adds, “Though it was a risky call but I am glad that Ranveer took it because it worked in his favour.
Everyone has his or her own dos and don’ts. Ranveer comes from a conservative family. Moreover, he wanted to do a solo hero film. He then waited for the right film to come his way and made a great start with BBB.”

The actress, recently wrapped the second filming schedule for Shirish Kunder’s Joker with co-star Akshay Kumar. Vishwaroopam will have her act opposite actor Kamal Hassan. The shooting for the film will go on floors in the first week of July.
August will see her filming for Sanjay Leela Bhansali production Rowdy Rathod with co-star Akshay Kumar.
Abbas Mustan’s multi starrer crime thriller Race 2 will begin filming in October. The film is a sequel to Race (2008). Anil Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan reprise their roles but the rest of the cast is new.
Shirish Kunder’s remake of South romance action film, Kick, will have the actress acting opposite Salman Khan. Filming will begin in January 2012. The sequel to Dabangg that producer and director Arbaaz Khan says will bigger and better than the original will start filming early next year, taking the story forward.
Sonakshi is not part of Sajid Nadiadwala produced multistarrer Housefull 2.

‘Ready’ is a SUPERHIT!!!
Salman Khan’s latest film Ready is emerging as a superhit at the Bollywood box office.Having taken bumper opening weekend collections, Ready has continued to maintain its good run throughout its first week and is soaring high in the second week too, with no dip in the collections. It collected Rs. 4.5 crores on Friday, Rs. 5.9 crores on Saturday and the collections shot up to Rs 9.05 crores on Sunday. The total second-weekend collection amounts to more than Rs 19 crores. Adding up the first and second weeks collection, the film has made close to 90 crores and so far, it is the biggest Bollywood hit of 2011.
It is expected to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark by the end of this week.
Ranbir Kapoor speaks his heart, on Simi Garewal’s chat show…
The cutie of Bollywood, Ranbir Kapoor, made Simi Garewal’s first episode of ‘India’s Most Desirable’, on Star World, on Sunday.. Since Simi shares a close connection with the Kapoors, She thought it was fair to have their handsome, young boy as the first guest on her chat show.On the first episode of the chat show, Ranbir, candidly spoke about his relationship and break up with his ex chick, Deepika Padukone. He also confesses that he has no grudge against her, despite the fact that she has spoken some uncomplimentary things about him, he still respects her.
“I still respect Deepika a lot. I had a beautiful relationship with her. She has some angst against me…I think it would have been more graceful of her if she had picked up the phone and speak to me about it rather than speaking on a public platform. She didn’t do that. But still I respect her. Still wish her all the best in life.”
Speaking about his current relationship status, Ranbir said: “I am absolutely single. I’m not looking for love. I believe that it will come at the right time. I wanna get married, I wanna be in love, I wanna love one person, I wanna make that person happy, and I wanna have a lovely life with that person.”

Ismail Darbar apologizes over Oscar comment....
After rumours about the Academy planning to sue him for $50,000 million, Ismail Darbar, who had accused A R Rahman of having bought the Oscar awards, says he is ready to apologize.The musician had indicted Rahman, who received two Oscars in 2008 Best Original Score and Best Original Song for his music in Slumdog Millionaire, of having paid for them.
Following this, there was scuttlebutt that The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences might sue him for insinuating that the awards can be bought.
Darbar now says he has nothing against the Oscars and that he just wanted to warn his ‘friend’ Rahman for churning out inferior quality music since last one year.
Darbar says, “I am grateful that I have been respected in the industry for my work. I did say some things about Rahman, because as a friend I want to jolt him out of his reverie and start giving good music.
I chose a public platform to do it, because he wouldn’t listen to me otherwise. I have nothing against the Oscars.
It is the most respected award, the whole world acknowledges it, and I do, too. If any of them (Academy) are hurt by my comments, I apologise to them.”
Darbar says he is not saying this out of fear of anyone, but God.
“I am not scared. The truth is, I realise that those people who respected me for my work, might misunderstand me and think I am baddimag (arrogant person).
Also, the fact is, I can have nothing against the Oscar panel or those behind the awards. My issue was with Rahman and I guess he’s got the message by now.”

B.O. update: 'Ready' dominates, 'BBB' leads amongst new releases
 READY continued to dominate the box-office for the third week in a row. Although the screen count has reduced and so has the number of shows at cineplexes [thanks to the multiple releases this Friday], READY is expected to dominate the marketplace by grossing decent figures in its third weekend ... Amongst new releases, BIN BULAYE BARAATI, which has had an extensive release at single screens, has opened very well in North India specifically. In fact, the film has overpowered all other films [except READY] in these markets ... BHEJA FRY 2 was expected to dominate the scenario, since the first part is still fresh in the minds of the viewers. But the opening response has been dull [15% to 20%]. Ditto for ALWAYS KABHI KABHI, which has opened to a 10% to 15% response ... BHINDI BAAZAAR INC. and CYCLE KICK have started on a poor note, although BHINDI BAAZAAR INC. has chances of improving over the weekend. |
Movie Reviews of Bin Bulaye Baraati
Non-stop laughathons are considered safe bet at the box-office. Take a wacky script, pack gag after gag, cast names with good comic timing... well, a leave-your-brains-at-home entertainer is ready to be served. Director Chandrakant Singh does just that.BIN BULAYE BARAATI follows the footsteps of successful masala movies, which defy rationale and logic. The sole motive/intention is to entertain. Though the film may not boast of a novel plot -- we have witnessed similar stories in the past -- and you may even complain that the screenplay tilts towards ridiculous and absurd, but the fact is that the entertainment quotient keeps you hooked at most times. Of course, BIN BULAYE BARAATI is strictly for those who love masala films, the 'single screen audience' in trade parlance.
Durjan Singh [Gulshan Grover] is a dangerous dacoit from Chambal. He comes to the city with the theft he has accumulated [diamonds and jewels]. He meets a don, Gajraj [Mukesh Tiwari] and his right-hand Ranjeet [Hemant Pandey], tells them to sell the jewelry, take their 10% and give the balance money back to him.
Meanwhile, AD [Aftab Shivdasani], who is being chased by police, escapes in Gajraj's vehicle. AD is dating police inspector PP's [Om Puri] niece Shreya [Priyanka Kothari]. Coincidentally, Murari [Rajpal Yadav], Hazari [Sanjay Mishra] and Chetta Singh [Vijay Raaz], who are on the run, jump in the same van. The cops are on the lookout of all four for different reasons. They reach the village which is terrorized by Durjan Singh. The villagers think the cops have arrived, since they are dressed in uniforms, so that they can save them from the clutches of dacoits.
BIN BULAYE BARAATI rests on a flimsy plot and even the screenplay is plain ridiculous. But it's a film for a specific target audience and that segment of moviegoers might enjoy the thrills, humor and of course, the songs, especially 'Shaalu' [Mallika Sherawat].
Director Chandrakant Singh needs to concentrate on a sound script, if he intends to make similar genre movies. Anand Raaj Anand's music caters to the masses, in fact is in sync with the genre of the film. Aftab Shivdasani is strictly okay. Priyanka Kothari is passable. Amongst supporting actors, Gulshan Grover, Johny Lever, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra, Mukesh Tiwari, Vijay Raaz and Hemant Pandey are seasoned players all and hence get it right. Shakti Kapoor does well. The scenes between Om Puri, Rati Agnihotri and Neeraj Vora are funny.
On the whole, BIN BULAYE BARAATI is for the single screen audience/hardcore masala film fans!
"Please don't bring your brains while watching Bin Bulaye Baarati" - Aftab
After spending a decade in the industry as a leading man, Aftab Shivdasani is now being seen as a cop in Bin Bulaye Baarati. Though he has played one in Footpath many moons ago, this film is different since it is an out and out comedy. Joginder Tuteja catches up with the Mast man and asks him how he feels about getting back on the big screen after a year long hiatus.So after Salman Khan in Dabangg, there is Aftab Shivdasani playing a cop in Bin Bulaye Baaraati. Seems like this is one cop film with a difference?
Ok, let me settle this misconception. First of all, I am not playing a cop in the film. I am basically playing a wannabe cop. I along with Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra and Vijay Raaz are actually crooks who are dressed up as cops. We enter a village and people there mistake us for being cops. So you know, Bin Bulaye Baarati is actually a hardcore masala entertaining comedy; it is not really a cop drama at all.

Well, comedy is primarily between us four men out there. Priyanka doesn't really have a comedy track per se; she is basically my love interest.
In fact both of you were launched by Ram Gopal Varma in Mast and James respectively. So were there any common notes exchanged?
No, not at all. There were no notes exchanged. In fact all our conversations were around the diet. I used to look upon her when it comes to eating habits; I really admire the way she keeps herself fit while resisting all the temptation to eat.

We both have mutual respect for Ramu but no, we didn't mention him even once.
The film looks like an out and out entertainer though where one can leave one's brains behind. Is that really the case?
Yeah, please don't bring your brains for this film. If you do, chances are you won't understand the film (winks).
The film was originally supposed to release in July. What led to it being pre-poned? I guess it is quite rare to see a movie arriving earlier than planned. Otherwise the trend is for films to get delayed.
Guess God wanted us to arrive early (laughs). But yes, this has happened for the first time in my career as well that a film of mine is arriving earlier than later. I guess this is one of the fastest films ever made. How many times have you heard about a film starting on 14th February and releasing on 17th June?
The film has a horde of seasoned comedians. Ever felt that they may be a little over powering? See, everyone just fitted in so beautifully into the film that no one was stepping on other person's shoes. No one was trying to hog the limelight. We were united in making the film work.
Aftab, 2009 was a pretty eventful year for you where you had as many as four releases in Aloo Chaat, Daddy Cool, Acid Factory & Aao Wish Karein with a special appearance in Kambakkht Ishq. What made you go so slow last year?
I just decided to go away from Mumbai and spend some time with myself. I just wanted to chill out and not really work. It was a very conscious effort and I wanted to pick up only those films which really excited me.

I went to UK, USA, Thailand, Hong Kong, Dharamshala etc. These were some of the most special trips of my life as I just travelled alone. These were my leisure and pleasure trips. I discovered a lot of things and most importantly I spent time with myself.
Meanwhile you had also produced Aao Wish Karein which, despite its decent merits, didn't do well. Do you think it was the marketing that went wrong?
Absolutely right. I feel that it failed due to marketing. While making it, we had 100% conviction in it but guess those who bought it didn't see a similar potential that I saw. This is where we lost. Of course there was heart burn involved when it saw a bad release and response. But then to be honest with you, once a product is dead, there is nothing that you can fight about. It just leads to bad mouthing and I don't want that.
So are you looking at resuming your production plans?
Yes, I would most definitely get back to production again. But it won't be at the moment, it would have to wait.

Shahrukh Khan’s Knee injury aggravated… Surgery in July…
Earlier, SRK was treated by Kolkata Knight Riders physiotherapist Andrew Lepius.
SRK was recently in Hyderabad, shooting.
According to Mumbai based Dr Ali Irani, “Yes he does have a knee problem and he will need to undergo surgery in July. He has been going through a lot of discomfort for sometime. And hence the doctor was called in. He has a tear in the meniscus of his left knee,” informed a source.

:(ALWAYS KABHI KABHI is said to be based on director Roshan Abbas successful play ‘Graffiti’, which he had written and directed way back in 1999.
The story spins around the lives of four high-school adolescents – Sameer aka Sam, Aishwarya aka Aishu/Aish, Taariq aka Einsten, Nandini aka Nandu the Bull, who are in their final year at St. Marks, a school full of good looking, well-dressed romantic students dancing around with funny professors like Ms Das (Lilette Dubey) and Professor Agarwal urf Agro (Vijay Raaz), the girl’s skirts end much above their knees and Romeo and Juliet continues to be the most important chapter in classroom.
Sam, the coolest dude in school, who lives life through shortcuts falls in love with Aish, a new entrant in the school, and as always, you can expect obstacles in their love story. A parallel love story emerges between angry young rebel, Nandu and the cute nerd Einsten. Everyone’s parents are evil.
In short, the story is about how the four brats screw up their lives, and to top it up, the family problems, thus clashing their dreams and aspirations.
The first half of the flick is dull and boring while the second half has a flashy climax. The movie is completely a teeny,youth type film, filled with dreams, friendship, love, crushes, parents pressure, campus life, flirting etc etc. The film does convey a message at the end especially to the parents.
Though the movie is so-so, in fact, it desperately wanted to look youthful, though the dialogues and one-liners did have a youth flavor. The entire star cast did their parts beautifully and can be rated above average. Thankfully, there was no over acting.
Roshan Abbas’ Always Kabhi Kabhi would have worked well if he had released the flick a few years back.

Fans couldn’t believe their eyes when they saw Aishwarya Rai Bachchan at the 162nd edition of the Prix de Diane horse race in Chantilly in France. Ash looked very fat and chubby. The actress was dressed in an elegant peach coloured Eli Saab creation and a typical coquettish hat.Just a few days back, she looked perfectly fine at the opening ceremony of the Cannes Film Festival, and there was no indication of the added kilos.
Well, the actress has put on so much of weight and she is going to have a tough time shedding those extra kilos for Madhur Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’. Aishwarya has not a very considerable amount of time to get back in shape if she is to look convincing as the ‘Heroine’.
Ileana D’cruz to play an old woman in Barfee...
South actress Ileana D’Cruz who features in Anurag Basu’s Barfee will be seen aging from a 19-year-old to a 65-year-old in the movie! The 24-year-old D’Cruz is a model-turned actress, who has been part of several South films including the superhit, Pokkiri. Barfee is her first Hindi film.“All the three lead actors are playing out-of-the-box, and extremely interesting characters in Barfee,” said Anurag Basu, the film’s director,
“Ranbir Kapoor, as everyone knows, is playing a deaf and mute boy, Priyanka Chopra is not mentally-challenged as reported, but is mildly autistic (a form of mental illness that causes a person to withdraw into a private world of fantasy and be unable to communicate with others or respond to his/her real environment) in the film. Ileana D’Cruz, on the other hand, is playing a character who will be seen aging from a 19-year-old to 30 to a 65 year-old,” stated Basu.
The shooting of Barfee took off on June 14 at Darjeeling where Ranbir and Ileana are participating in a 10-day schedule. The hill station is Ranbir’s hometown in the film and will be showcased as never before. After a 15-day gap, the shooting will continue in Mumbai, where Priyanka will start working for her part in August. As for the title Barfee, it was chosen because Ranbir’s name in the film is Murphy, and being mute, he mumbles it as barfee!
Anushka Sharma to join Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, in Yash’s directorial project…..
By now, its very clear that Anushka Sharma shares a wonderful rapport with YRF. The latest we hear is that the actress will be seen sharing screen space with Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in the much-talked about untitled project. According to a trusted source, “The script requires a strong actor for the second lead in the film. Yash and Aditya were scouting around and then thought that Anushka seemed to be an obvious choice, for more than one reason.
The role required an actress, who looks younger than Katrina Kaif. And few actresses fit that requirement. Anushka was just the right choice. Plus, Yash Chopra is really fond of her.”
If the buzz is true, then, this would be Anushka’s fifth time working with YRF.
Imran Khan set to file a PIL against new ruling…..
The new law raising the alcohol consumption age to 25 in Maharashtra, is not being favored by many Bollywood stars. Actor Imran Khan appears to have taken it upon himself to file a PIL against the new ruling.Currently, media is abuzz that the ‘Delhi Belly’ protagonist Imran Khan feels that raising of the drinking age to 25 in Maharashtra is absolutely unfair, as when people can vote and marry at 18 and have kids at 21, then why cant they chose to drink or not to drink at an early age.
Imran says he doesn’t endorse nor wish to promote drinking among youth. But what he’s concerned about is the right of freedom to choose for the youngsters who are mature enough to take important decisions like marriage.
Imran’s call to action has his I Hate Luv Storys co-star Sonam Kapoor saying cheers as well.
“If you can vote, get married, have children, drive a car… why on earth can’t you drink? It’s ridiculous we are not living in the dark ages,” said Sonam.
Amitabh Bachchan has tweeted: “On drinking age limit increased to 25 ! Err .. old and mature enough to vote for the country, or join army ..and fight for the nation…but not old and mature enough to be told when you are allowed to drink ???? Strange ?!!!! (sic) .”
Many other Bollywood stars have also spoken against the ruling.

South India charmed by Salman’s presence…..
Once you are friends with Salman Khan, he will always be there for you, when you need him. Well, South stunt master FEFSI Vijayan can vouch for that.Salman Khan especially flew down to Chennai yesterday to attend the music launch of Markandeyan, which stars Sabarish, son of FEFSI Vijayan, in the lead role.
FEFSI Vijayan is the man who has directed the stunts of Salman Khan’s films such as Wanted, Dabangg and the upcoming Bodyguard. Salman shares a very good rapport with him, and when Vijayan invited Salman to grace the music launch of Markandeyan, Salman promptly agreed.
At the music launch, Salman, along with south stars Shriya Saran and actor Vijay lit the ceremonial lamp and launched the music. Despite the presence of a few Tamil film stars, it was Salman Khan who hogged everyone’s attention.

Director Madhur Bhandarkar’s film Heroine, which had Kareena Kapoor as the leading lady initially, now has Aishwarya Rai essaying the lead lady’s role. And if buzz is to be believed, Ash’s has a very very bold role to play. The above pic is a leaked look of Aishwarya Rai from the film’s set. Despite employing 15 to 17 security guards at the shooting location to keep Ash’s look of a fading superstar a top secret, some crew member clicked Ash’s photos and leaked it out.
According to a source, “Aishwarya’s character in the film has the shades of gray, but from start to end it remains an ultra glamorous character.”
‘Heroine’ has Aishwarya Rai playing a brutally ambitious actress who uses people to achieve fame. Yet, there is a vulnerable side to the character as well. Actor Arunoday Singh plays Aishwarya’s boy toy in the movie.

Sanjay Dutt has gone bald for his movie Agneepath, an extreme decision he had to take. Dutt didn’t initially want to get his head shaved to play the villain in producer Karan Johar’s remake of the yesteryear hit Agneepath. But blame it on the scorching sun that made it almost impossible for Dutt to shoot with prosthetic make-up.The temperature in the Diu (that’s where the film is being shot), was a soaring 48 degrees celsius and the prosthetic make-up he had on (which took three hours to apply and would take an hour-and-a-half to remove) began melting away.
To avoid continuity hiccups in his other films, Sanjay Dutt had roped in the Hollywood make-up expert Robin Slater to give him the bald look. But the make-up sessions were long and tiresome. So he took the bold decision and went bald.
As for the continuity of his other films, a wig is being designed in the likeness of Dutt’s original hairdo.
Dutt says, “I couldn’t have handled the make-up mess after a point. It was too tiring. Also, it was a strain on my eyes as prosthetic make-up is heavy.”

Shahrukh stays away from ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’...
Shahrukh Khan’s home production ‘Always Kabhi Kabhi’ is all set to hit theaters on 17th June (tomorrow) and the films promotion ios going on in full swing. But why is Shahrukh not to be seen anywhere during the promotional events???The movie features Zoa Morani, Satyajeet Dube (new comers), Giselle Monteiro and Ali Fazal. Shahrukh Khan will be seen in an item song ‘Antenna’ which will not be used in the film.
Well, the reason why SRK is maintaining a low profile about his production is because he doesn’t want to steal the attention away from the young actors.
Roshan Abbas, the film’s director, says that Always Kabhi Kabhi is essentially a youth film. And though that doesn’t mean Shahrukh Khan has become ‘old’, his presence in the film would have tilted the balance away from the young actors.
“Let’s face it, if we have Shah Rukh in the film, he will automatically become the centre of all attention,” Abbas is quoted to have said.
Salman Khan is the new darling at the box office
Salman Khan is so much in demand that producers and directors are queuing up to sign him for their films. But the star is too busy to sign any.After the roaring success of Ready, the latest we hear is that the director of Ghajini, A Murugadoss, is keen on roping in Salman Khan for his next. Post that, he’ll commit to Dabangg 2 and a tentatively titled film Jungle for brother Sohail Khan.
